Prevent Blindness is partnering with an organization called Medscape Education to recruit 4 individuals with wet AMD who are receiving anti-VEGF injections to participate in an online focus group on Monday, January 26th at 7-9:30p ET.
Goal of the focus group
These discussions are an essential first step in addressing a well-documented gap in clinician–patient communication for individuals undergoing anti-VEGF treatment. While clinicians are generally well trained in communication, patients with wet AMD face unique burdens, fears, and quality-of-life challenges that traditional communication approaches often do not fully address.
Insights from these focus groups will inform the development of two tailored patient communication guides, which will later be incorporated into CME-certified activities. Retina specialists will receive training on these tools, the patient-driven insights behind them, and guidance on best practices for using them in clinical care.
Eligibility criteria
Participants must be currently receiving anti-VEGF injection therapy for a diagnosis of wet AMD.
Honorarium
Eligible focus group participants will receive $1,000 stipend for successful participation in the online focus group on Monday, January 26th at 4-6:30p PST/ 6-8:30p CT/ 7-9:30 PM ET.
