Apellis is seeking potential participants for its Patient Ambassador Program. As part of the program, participants will take part in trainings for the preparation of events where they may share about their geographic atrophy (GA) journey.
Please understand that a limited number of individuals will be selected to participate. Apellis staff will talk with you to determine if you are eligible. Selected participants will receive support directly from a professional Speech Coach to assist in developing a 10–12-minute story and preparing to share it with audiences. Participants will be compensated for their time.
Time Commitment/Expectations from Ambassadors

- Initial screening conversation: ~30 – 45 minutes
- Contracted speaker:
- Overview and training session: ~2 hours
- Speech development with a dedicated speech coach: 3 – 4 hours (up to 6 depending on progress)
- Rehearsal calls with dedicated speech coach to practice story: 2 – 3 hours (up to 5 depending on progress)
- Ongoing monthly speech coach check-ins: as needed
- Events/programs: TBD as needed
